Sometimes this is an issue if you’re flying airliners, especially outside of NA/EU. There is also consistency with updated airport charts, so you won’t have to worry that your navigation information is outdated compared to an airport chart you found. The benefits of this include consistency with flight planning software (such as SimBrief), because you will never run into an issue with inconsistent procedures, waypoints, or airport information between what your FMC/GPS has and what your flight planner has. AIRAC cycles should be updated frequently (they are released every 28 days), as they contain the most up to date navigation information and airport information.
